Over the last couple of months, I tried to have a good attitude while waiting. I tried reading the scriptures and distracting myself with different activities, but none of that worked. It wasn't until later that I realized I was frustrated with God. I was frustrated that things were not happening on my timetable or in the way I expected them to. Have you ever been there? Have you ever found yourself frustrated because things weren't going your way?
Not many people are willing to admit this, but experiencing frustration during the wait is guaranteed to happen at one time or another in your walk with God. One minute you're happy and celebrating because of the promises God made to you and the next you're frustrated because it hasn't happened yet. Boy we are a piece of work! Thank the Lord for grace and mercy!
It was during my time of frustration that I began to move ahead of God. I decided to take things into my own hands and help God out. Imagine that! God allowed me to do that for a little while and then He did what any good Father would do. He put me in time out! LOL
God has this great ability of moving us out of the way for our own good. Sometimes He uses people and sometimes He uses situations. In my case, He used a blood clot in my brain to sit me down. I'm telling you God has a way of getting our attention! Finally, I had no choice but to BE STILL!
Like the woman with the issue of blood, I found myself at the Master's feet once again in need. I needed healing from not only a physical issue, but also an emotional and spiritual issue. You see, it's during our times of trials that we discover just how much we need Him and how lost we are without Him. I needed to get back into His presence so I could once again rest in Him and find that peace that only He can give when you know He's got it all under control. Sometimes, we just need to Be Still, and Know That He Is God!
Love and Peace,
